April 8, 2013

OVERLAND PARK, KS (April 8, 2013) - A late March snowstorm failed to stop Erickson Living from breaking ground on a new Continuing Care neighborhood at Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park, KS. The groundbreaking was moved "inside" and was attended by more than 200 residents , future residents and staff.
This continuing care neighborhood will immediately create 50 construction jobs and then add 70 health care jobs when it opens later this year. It will generate more than $1 million in annual economic impact to Johnson County and Overland Park.
This new neighborhood will allow Tallgrass Creek, which has more than 300 residents, to offer assisted living, short-term rehab and nursing care,

in addition to independent living. The higher level of care programs that will be added at Tallgrass Creek will include 28 Assisted Living apartments, 28 Memory Care apartments and 44 Skilled Nursing rooms.
