Erickson Living Promotes Dr. Austin Welsh to Medical Director for Tallgrass Creek
OVERLAND PARK, KS (January 3, 2012) - Erickson Living has promoted Dr. Austin Welsh to Medical Director for Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park, Kansas. Dr. Welsh served previously as Geriatrician for the Erickson Health Medical Group at Tallgrass Creek.
Dr. Welsh joined Tallgrass Creek four years ago. He served previously as Geriatrician for Northwest Senior Health, Schmieding Center, in Springdale, Arkansas.
Dr. Welsh, who was once a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer for drought relief in Botswana in southern Africa, has earned Board Certification from the American Board of Geriatric Medicine and the American Board of Family Practice.
His education and training includes the following: Geriatric Medicine Fellowship, John A. Burns School of Medicine, Honolulu, Hawaii; Family Medicine Residency, St. John's Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri; Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio; and Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, B.A.
Dr. Welsh holds memberships in American Geriatrics Society, American Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Directors Association, and Association of American Physicians & Surgeons.
