Senior Living News in Overland Park

When Flint Hills Landing, the ninth residence building at Tallgrass Creek, an Erickson Senior Living community in Overland Park, Kans., opened in July, it marked the beginning of a new chapter--both for the community and its incoming residents. 

In addition to 84 brand-new homes and a Life Enrichment Center, now Flint Hills Landing connects both neighborhoods through a new climate-controlled walkway.

Greg and Deede Harris had long imagined an active, maintenance-free retirement, but they decided to move sooner than planned after visiting Tallgrass Creek. Once they'd toured the community, the couple realized that the vibrant lifestyle they wanted was available right now. 

"We just kept asking ourselves, 'Why wait?'" says Greg. "We're healthy, active, and in a good place financially. It made sense to move while we could fully enjoy everything the community has to offer."

A recent U.S. News & World Report survey found that older adults who move to a senior living community report feeling less lonely, more physically active, and are more engaged than before they moved. 

That's no surprise to Henry and Susan Ninstil. Since moving to Tallgrass Creek, they have enjoyed a vibrant lifestyle filled with the amenities and interactions that keep them engaged and fulfilled.
