POMPTON PLAINS, NJ - Many people take the trip to a museum for the day to see the beauty that the art world has, but what about art taking a trip to see the beauty people have to offer?
That's exactly what happened when the kind folks from the Montclair Art Museum traveled to Cedar Crest in their Mobile Art Museum! The "moving museum" is a mobile open studio, housed in a retrofitted ice cream truck, that offers free art projects and lessons to the public, Cedar Crest residents included.
Instructors also provided residents with a watercolor class which provided participants with the chance to learn a new hobby.
"There are so many talented artists at Cedar Crest who love to write, play music, paint, draw and sculpt. You name it, they do it while taking part in many of the 184 different groups, clubs and activities we have," said Cedar Crest Executive Director Lou Varella. "We are very thankful that the Montclair Art Museum sent their mobile unit to our community to share works of art and give them the ability to create something special."
