Erickson Senior Living, a national leader in developing and managing continuing care retirement communities, has named Kristen Compton as executive director of Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, N.J.
“Kristen has been serving as Cedar Crest’s associate executive director since 2017 and has proven herself to be a strong and dedicated leader,” says John Mann, Erickson Senior Living’s vice president of regional operations. “Her passion for providing the highest quality of services for residents and employees will ensure Cedar Crest continues to be one of Northern New Jersey’s premier senior living communities.”
Compton’s numerous accomplishments at Cedar Crest include facilitating many of the community’s repositioning projects, driving seamless operations, and helping the community achieve impressive scores in both resident satisfaction and employee engagement. Before joining the Cedar Crest leadership team, Compton held administrator positions at CareOne and Genesis Healthcare, helping both organizations achieve 5-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve those who live and work in this wonderful community,” said Compton. “I look forward to continuing to build on Cedar Crest’s outstanding culture of service excellence and raising the bar for senior living in Morris County.”
Compton, a resident of Lake Hopatcong, N.J., holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Towson University in Maryland and a master’s degree in theology and healing science from New Mexico Theological Seminary in Santa Fe, N.M.
Compton replaces Todd DeLaney, who recently transitioned to a new role as executive director of Avery Point, a new Erickson Senior Living community in Short Pump, Va., scheduled to open in the fall.
