Cedar Crest Residents Contribute $274,090 to Hourly Staff for a Job Well Done

December 13, 2021

Residents of Cedar Crest, an Erickson Senior Living community located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, recently made the holiday season a bit merrier for the community's staff by generously contributing $274,090 to the 2021 Staff Appreciation Fund.

The annual Staff Appreciation campaign is an opportunity for Cedar Crest residents to thank the hourly employees who consistently go above and beyond to provide a variety of services that enhance the daily lives of residents.

Throughout the year, Cedar Crest residents make gifts to the Fund. Each holiday season, the funds are then distributed among Cedar Crest’s eligible employees, which include dining associates, security officers, maintenance workers, housekeepers, and medical and nursing assistants—just to name a handful.

At a festive event on December 7, employees enjoyed refreshments and had the opportunity to contribute personalized messages of gratitude to the “Thank You” whiteboard. The board is currently on display on campus.

A total of 657 employees were celebrated and received a distribution from the Fund this year.

“I want to thank our residents for their generosity and for recognizing Cedar Crest’s dedicated employees,” said Executive Director Todd DeLaney. “The Staff Appreciation Fund is a wonderful opportunity for residents to give a gift to the employees who mean so much to them. Our employees do so much to make residents’ lives more enjoyable and make Cedar Crest a great place to live and work.”

In 2021, Cedar Crest was awarded a Top Workplace honor by NJ.com for the third year in a row.
