Prospective residents of The Grandview in Bethesda will receive personalized moving support.

One of the greatest benefits of joining the Priority List for The Grandview, an Erickson Senior Living community coming soon to Bethesda, Md., is exclusive access to planning and moving support.

Hannah Davis, the community's planning and moving consultant, provides personalized assistance on everything from space planning and selecting a real estate agent to downsizing and packing to help incoming residents simplify their upcoming moves.

Experienced professionals

Davis begins with a complimentary visit to your house, where she can help create a road map for your move.

First, Davis will go from room to room and measure any pieces of furniture that you'd like to bring. Then, with the floor plan for your new residence in hand, she can help you visualize how your furniture will look in your new living space.

She also uses home visits an as opportunity to discuss how hands-on you'd like to be throughout the moving process. If you want professionals to handle everything, she can provide a list of preferred vendors for downsizing, packing, house staging, and moving.

"Our preferred vendors are thoroughly vetted and have expertise in helping people move--especially those who have been in their house for 25 or more years," says George Mishraky, sales director for The Grandview. "We only recommend vendors who are experts in their field, because we want our incoming residents to have the best experience possible."

He adds, "These vendors can also connect you to other specialists, such as companies who will handle donating items you don't want to bring with you."

An easy sale

Davis can also recommend preferred real estate agents based on geography, personality, and expertise.

"Many prospective residents appreciate not having to do the preliminary research," notes Mishraky. "All they have to do is speak with each one to find the best fit."

He continues, "The real estate agents we recommend are highly respected, have a great track record, are familiar with Erickson Senior Living's reservation process, and provide top-notch service. They know the area very well and have sold many, many houses."

Plus, if you sell your house through one of The Grandview's preferred real estate professionals, you'll receive up to a $2,000 credit toward qualified moving expenses.

On your time

Mishraky encourages Priority List members to sell after moving to The Grandview, so they can focus on getting settled in their new home and adjust to community life.

In fact, recognizing that some people are using the equity in their house to pay the 80% refundable entrance fee*, The Grandview allows incoming residents to pay only 10% of the refundable entrance fee and sign a promissory note to pay the balance upon the sale of their existing house.

"Just coordinate with your real estate agent to list your house shortly after moving in," says Mishraky. "A benefit of working with one of our preferred real estate agents is that they understand this process.
Everyone being on the same page makes it so much easier!"

"But ultimately," he adds, "our aim is to help you sell your house within your parameters and timeframe. We are here to help in any way we can."
