June 11, 2013

The retirement community's in-house television station wins award for tenth consecutive year

Greenspring's Channel 6 production team is the proud recipient of two Bronze Telly's from the 34th Annual Telly Awards.  In its thirteen year history, Channel 6 has won 24 Telly's for the station's outstanding production work.  The Telly's are presented annually to honor local, regional, and cable programs, as well as other video, web, and film productions throughout the world.  This year, there were over 13,000 entries submitted for consideration.

Channel 6 received one Bronze Telly for Greenspring's 2012 "Monster Mash" video, which featured nearly one dozen residents from the community in full Halloween make-up and costumes performing a lip dub to the Bobby 'Boris' Pickett track originally produced in 1962.  The second Telly was presented for a Women's History Month program which spotlighted Greenspring resident Dr. Marcia Dake.
"We are truly delighted to receive our 23rd and 24th Telly Awards this year," said Diane Gatsis Havinga, Executive Producer, Director, and Manager of Channel 6. "It is a wonderful accomplishment for our production team and truly speaks to the quality and depth of programming we are able to provide to Greenspring each and every day."
