Great Demand for The Grandview

The Grandview, the new Erickson Senior Living community under construction in Bethesda, Maryland, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2025.

Demand continues to be robust for The Grandview, an Erickson Senior Living community opening in Bethesda, Md., later this year.

With the first residence building, Potomac Heights, already over 90% reserved, now is the time to act if you want to embrace an active lifestyle at this brand-new community.

"If you're interested in moving soon," says Sales Director George Mishraky, "I recommend reaching out to the sales team to learn more about the residences still available. Our second residence building won't open until fall 2026!"

Design decisions

Of all the floor plans offered at Potomac Heights, the Waverly--a deluxe two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath design with a den and two balconies--has been the most popular.

"The Waverly has all the bells and whistles, including a laundry room, a nice big kitchen island, dedicated dining room, and big bedrooms," Mishraky says.

Retirees who have already reserved have been pleased with the upscale finishes, which were chosen after gathering valuable input from reservists and Priority List members.

A number of future residents are excited to personalize their living space.

"Some reservists have already indicated that they are going to customize their residences by adding closet organizers, fans, and additional lighting," explains Mishraky. "We have hired a custom interiors coordinator to help reservists gain ideas on how to further customize their residence, if they'd like."

Progress updates

Construction is making great strides toward the finish line, with The Grandview's opening slated for this fall.

"The second residence building, Woodmont Terrace, will open in fall 2026 with reservations beginning around fall of this year," Mishraky says. "We have begun sharing some of those floor plans with Priority List members."

He adds, "Although news about Woodmont Terrace is exciting, there are still openings in Potomac Heights. If you want to move to The Grandview as soon as possible, I recommend joining the Priority List, so you'll have first dibs on these remaining floor plans."

In addition to right of first refusal on residences, Priority List members receive updates on construction via a monthly newsletter and exclusive invites to informational events that provide insight into how Erickson Senior Living communities operate, what community life will be like, and what services and amenities will be offered.

Staying engaged

While patiently waiting for Potomac Heights to open, reservists have been attending social events to make new friends and meet their future neighbors.

Already, attendees have savored delicious barbecue while their unwanted documents were shredded, received a personal tour of the National Gallery of Art's west wing with lunch, and attended a comedy show.

The Grandview is also holding special events for Priority List members who have not yet reserved, including a viewing of Hamilton: The Man and the Musical, a multimedia presentation that explores the life of Alexander Hamilton through the lens of the Broadway musical Hamilton.

Members were also invited to an expo, where they could learn about preferred vendors who specialize in downsizing and prepping houses for sale. Another popular activity is Link Generations, which engages Priority List members in intergenerational activities with local students from neighboring Walter Johnson High School.

Coming together

Priority List members are coming together to engage in clubs and activities as well. Recently, Sandy Winnick created a club for singles to gather, chat, plan social events, and create a sense of community before The Grandview opens.

"Sandy approached me and said, 'I'm single, and I've noticed a lot of couples at the Priority List events,'" Mishraky recalls. "So, she came up with the idea of a singles group. At their very first meeting, they had 20 people attend. I kept hearing people say to Sandy, 'Thank you so much for putting this together. This is so great.'"

He adds, "It's really encouraging that this sense of community is starting to take place now."

If you want to join the hundreds of kind, active retirees moving to The Grandview later this year, now's your chance to join the Priority List!
