Construction Begins on New Continuing Care Neighborhood at Ashby Ponds

New neighborhood to feature assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation & nursing care services at retirement community

(Ashburn, Va.) - Ashby Ponds, an Erickson Living retirement community, recently began construction on its continuing care neighborhood.
 
The addition of the continuing care neighborhood at Ashby Ponds will complete the community's mission of providing all levels of health care at one site, the first of its kind in Loudoun County, Va.  The four-story, 120,000 square-foot continuing care neighborhood will be comprised of 132 residences offering assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation and nursing care services.  Residents of the continuing care neighborhood
will enjoy the highest quality of care, plus benefits like private apartment suites with full private baths and showers, walk-in closets, granite countertops, and easy access to the amenities and services that Ashby Ponds offers.

"While many of our residents will not need higher levels of care, I understand the peace of mind that comes with having these services available."
The continuing care neighborhood has been designed by the award-winning firm of Lantz-Boggio Architects.  With a background spanning more than 45 years, Lantz-Boggio Architects is a nationally-recognized leader in the design of senior living and care environments.  Earlier this year, Ashby Ponds selected Whiting-Turner as the general contractor for the site.   Whiting-Turner was founded in 1909 and has an extensive portfolio in the senior living industry.
Most recently, Ashby Ponds opened a new independent living residential building in April 2012.  The building is comprised of 80 deluxe apartments-style homes, and was over 90% reserved prior to its opening.  Now fully occupied, Red Robin View has brought more than 100 new neighbors to Ashby Ponds this year.
Construction on the continuing care neighborhood at Ashby Ponds is expected to be completed in early spring 2014.
