Ashby Ponds Opens New Clubhouse and Residential Building

Hamilton Way, the newest independent living residential building at Ashby Ponds, opened its doors to new residents eager to joining the thriving Erickson Senior Living developed and managed community in Ashburn, Va. The opening continues a year of growth on the heels of this spring’s introduction of the Blue Ridge Clubhouse, the community’s third clubhouse. 

“This is an exciting time for Ashby Ponds,” says Executive Director Will Nance. “Our goal is to meet both the tremendous demand for the Erickson Senior Living lifestyle in Loudoun County as well provide our residents with the gold standard when it comes to amenities and services. A place to come together 

The Blue Ridge Clubhouse has quickly become a popular hub for dining, entertainment, and socializing. Inside, residents enjoy the state-of-the-art fitness and aquatic centers; an educational endeavors room; a game room with poker tables; a full-size, regulation pickleball court; and a dazzling salon and day spa, massage room, and barber shop. 

Outside additions include two new bocce courts and a town green complete with a beautiful pergola. The Blue Ridge Clubhouse also features two new restaurants, the casual Skyline Grille and the more formal Potomac steakhouse. 

Inviting new space 

“The Blue Ridge Clubhouse is awesome,” says community member Ann Hunt. “It is so spacious and inviting for residents, and a great place to entertain guests. The restaurant designs have the same ambiance as many restaurants in the local area. I am amazed at how modern everything is.” 

Neighbor Jane Gatchalian agrees. “The clubhouse is beautiful,” she says. “The design and layout look and feel like a resort. The fitness center is filled with state-of-the-art equipment, and the swimming pool and hot tub are very inviting. Community member Lou Rodriguez, one of three resident-managers of the Ashby Ponds’ pickleball group, is thrilled with the new court. 

“With the full-sized, regulation court, the game can be played and enjoyed without altering the rules of play,” he says. “With that, we can improve our program and scheduling in concert with the needs of our residents.” Lou expects participation to grow with the completion of Hamilton Way. “We have already had queries from prospective new residents about the pickleball program,” he says.

A place to call home 

The opening of the 146 new apartment homes at Hamilton Way is creating a buzz of excitement. Each of the new apartment homes feature amenities already popular at Ashby Ponds, including airy layouts; modernized kitchens with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances; full-sized, side-by-side washers and dryers; walk-in closets; and custom flooring and light fixtures. 

And many of these sought-after homes include a choice of patio, bay window, or screened porch. Convenient under-building parking is also available. 

Hamilton Way also boasts two never-before-seen floor plans, the large two-bedroom, two-bath with bay window Reagan and the extra-large two-bedroom, two-bath with porch Sydney. 

Each new apartment home is easily accessible to the new Blue Ridge Clubhouse as well as the Great Oak and Cardinal Clubhouses, via climate-controlled walkways. Hamilton Way is also home to Ashby Ponds' ninth restaurant, the highly anticipated Black Rock Bistro, named after the popular trail in the Shenandoah Mountains. The restaurant boasts an open-air kitchen, a large pizza oven, and full-sized bar. For those guests wishing to dine al fresco, the restaurant opens onto a terrace overlooking the town green and pergola.
