Ashby Ponds Holds Annual Blessing of the Animals

October 10, 2013

In recognition of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4), Ashby Ponds held its annual "Blessing of the Animals" for resident pets on Wednesday, October 9.  Reverend Matt Sergent of Galilee United Methodist in Sterling presided over the ceremony where he blessed more than a dozen dogs who live at Ashby Ponds.  Almost 100 cats and dogs, and even some turtles, now reside among the more than 725 residents at Ashby Ponds.
