Ashby Ponds Is Expanding with the Construction of Waterford Station

April 6, 2022

Due to the substantial demand for the Erickson Senior Living lifestyle in Loudoun County, Va., Ashby Ponds recently announced the construction of Waterford Station, the community’s newest residential building.

Waterford Station will connect Maple Grove, Ashby Ponds' continuing care community, to the new Blue Ridge Clubhouse, and with a bridge to Willow Crossing, it will officially link all of the community’s buildings together.

With plans for Waterford Station already underway, the community’s adage “under one roof” rings true now more than ever.

Excitement spreads

“This is an exciting year at Ashby Ponds,” says Sales Director Holly Henderson. “The number of people visiting our campus - eager and ready to move - illustrates that this new construction is right on time.”

She adds, “When we introduced Hamilton Way in late 2020, the new apartment homes sold out just mere weeks after announcing construction. We anticipate the same for Waterford Station. Word of mouth is a powerful force. Our residents love living here, and they continue to spread the word to family and friends.”

Since moving into Hamilton Way last June, Levena and Mike Bailey can’t help but sing the praises of their new apartment home.

“Ashby Ponds is a vibrant place, filled with laughter in the halls and opportunities to expand your interests and skills,” says Levena. “I have laughed more and felt more alive at Ashby Ponds than I have in many years. This community lifts your spirits and awakens a new spark in life itself.”

Down to the details

Each of Waterford Station’s 79 new apartment homes will feature open layouts and modern finishes; updated kitchens with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances; full-size, side-by-side washers and dryers; walk-in closets; and custom flooring and light fixtures. Many of the apartment homes will also feature an outdoor living space with a sought-after, screened-in porch.

“In the planning of each new residential building, we evolve our offerings based on the feedback of current and future residents,” says Henderson. “As a result, Waterford Station will feature 16 of our most popular one- and two-bedroom floor plans. We also offer a vast array of interior design options to meet each resident’s personal preferences.”

Ranked number one on Waterford Station’s top-seller list is the Quincy - an extra-large two-bedroom, two-bath floor plan. The Millbrook - second on the list - is a large two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath floor plan.

Both the Quincy and Millbrook boast open living areas and spacious primary bedrooms with large walk-in closets, satisfying market demand for more storage space.

The popular screened-in porch - perfect for growing plants, bird-watching, or simply enjoying the vibrant surroundings - is available in both these apartment homes.

Just the beginning

Most importantly, each of Waterford Station’s new apartment homes opens to a bustling community filled with new neighbors and over 200 clubs and activities.

“The best part of our new life at Ashby Ponds is meeting and getting to know our new neighbors,” says Betty McFarlane, who moved with her husband Tom last June. “We enjoy exploring ‘Main Street’ and wandering the outdoor paths throughout the campus. Together, we attend a variety of meetings, classes, performances, and movies in the Great Oak Theater.”

As Ashby Ponds’ newest residents, known as the Class of 2021, both the Baileys and the McFarlanes note that their families and friends are envious of their new lifestyle.

“Our sons are happy we made the move to such a safe and comfortable community,” says Tom. “After showing one of our daughters-in-law the large indoor pool, well-equipped fitness center, indoor pickle ball court, and outdoor bocce court, she asked, ‘How old do I have to be in order to live here?’”

Tom adds, “One of our friends was pleasantly surprised at the number of restaurants available to us, as well as the number of spaces available for activities.”

“Our friends comment on how beautiful our apartment home is and how thrilled they are that we moved here,” says Levena. “Our family is happy that we have such a lovely place in which to age gracefully. And our children are relieved that we chose to make decisions about our retirement proactively, saving them the burden of making those decisions for us later.”

Come and see

Henderson invites anyone interested in learning more about the Ashby Ponds’ maintenance-free, active lifestyle to schedule a visit.

“Each visit is an opportunity to see, firsthand, the exciting changes taking place at our community each day,” she says. “There’s never any pressure - just a great opportunity to discover why so many people wish to call Ashby Ponds home.”
