The Washington Post Names Erickson Senior Living as a Winner of the Greater Washington Area 2018 Top Workplaces Award

June 27, 2018

National Senior Housing Leader's workplace culture sets unique standard

(June 27, 2018) – Erickson Living has been awarded a Top Workplaces honor by The Washington Post.  Specifically, the company was ranked No. 28 among large organizations, and recognized for having dynamic and rewarding environments for its career professionals.

The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback from Riderwood (Silver Spring, MD), Greenspring (Springfield, VA), and Ashby Ponds (Ashburn, VA) gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly Workplace Dynamics), a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

"Top Workplaces is more than just recognition," said Doug Claffey, Chief Executive Officer of Energage. "Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement."

"Creating an environment that values employees and recognizes individual achievements is a top priority at Erickson Living," said Alan Butler, Erickson Living's Chief Executive Officer. "That's why we work hard to understand what we're doing well and what needs to improve so we can retain and attract the very best and brightest people. When employees know you care, they pass along that same level of commitment and concern to the residents we serve."

"Becoming a Top Workplace isn't something organizations can buy," said Claffey. "It's an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It's a big deal."
