New residents moving into Eastside Village and Cypress Landing at Highland Springs in North Dallas are looking forward to enjoying the maintenance-free lifestyle.

The third and final neighborhood at Highland Springs, an Erickson Senior Living community in North Dallas, Tex., is now open!

Eastside Village Clubhouse and Cypress Landing, boasting an array of one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, will offer the same maintenance-free lifestyle that residents have been enjoying since the community opened in 2006.

"We began accepting reservations for Eastside Village and Cypress Landing in October 2022. We were pleased to see such a large number of our new apartment homes be reserved before the buildings were even open," says Sales Director Christina Christie. "It's gratifying to be able to satisfy the tremendous demand for our community."

Brand-new amenities

The new neighborhood is an attractive addition to Highland Springs' bucolic, 89-acre campus. Eastside Village will boast three dozen apartment homes on its upper floors.

Cypress Landing, the accompanying residence building, will offer 102 apartment homes--most with porches--that overlook the pond and vibrantly landscaped grounds, including new plantings, gardens, and walking paths. It will also bring a new fitness center and lounge, an updated woodshop, space for pickleball, a reading room, and under-building parking.

Crescent Club at Highland Springs, the community's newest dining venue, will feature a 53-seat bar and outdoor seating. Perfect for catching up with friends over a cocktail or savoring an al fresco meal!

'Meets our needs'

Carol and David Mandt, residents of Garland, Tex., for more than 40 years, were the first to reserve an apartment home in Cypress Landing.

"We raised two sons in this house. Most of the people on our cul-de-sac have lived here as long as we have," says Carol. "It's a close-knit community, so we're friends with lots of our neighbors."

Despite their love for the neighborhood, recent health issues and increasing home maintenance motivated them to consider a move to a retirement community.

"Somewhere down the line, we knew that we would need to move to a better location for us," says David, pointing to the importance of having quality health care nearby. "We also have an older house, which means that upkeep is necessary--often at inconvenient times."

The couple researched several continuing care and assisted living communities, but Highland Springs' on-site care and maintenance-free lifestyle was far above the rest. They note that it also had the best reviews.

"Several people from our neighborhood have moved to Highland Springs," David says.

"Everybody was so happy whenever we went to visit," adds Carol. "Highland Springs meets all of our needs!"

To learn more about the community their friends spoke so highly of, the couple joined Highland Springs' priority list in 2017. That provided Carol and David with right of first refusal on their desired apartment home, as well as access to the community's planning and moving services and invitations to exclusive social events.

"We have enjoyed lunches and dinners at Highland Springs, made new friends, and joined in activities," notes David. "Whenever they had something going on, we would go over. In fact, we've already met two couples who will be living on our floor!"

Help along the way

The Mandts appreciate the ability to personalize their brand-new space, with help from the community's Custom Interiors team.

"The design staff has been very accommodating and professional," Carol says. "They've worked with us to make requested changes and ensure we'll have a cohesive design."

Christie notes that many reservists on the priority list are also working with Planning and Moving Consultant Cindy Gay to prepare for their move.

"Cindy's complimentary home visits are a game changer. By visiting reservists in their current homes, she's able to identify which furniture will fit in their new apartment homes," explains Christie. "She can provide recommendations for preferred vendors that assist with downsizing and moving."

Counting down the hours until move-in day, Carol and David are eager to enjoy all that their Cypress Landing apartment home has to offer.

"Our apartment home layout, the Shelton floor plan, is a new design for Highland Springs. I'll be soaking in the views of the pond and its fountain from our windows!" says Carol. "I know we're going to use the fitness center, and we're interested in participating in some clubs. Maybe a few art classes too?"

"We look forward to each new experience and becoming a new family, with new friends," adds David.
If you're interested in Highland Spring's active, worry-free lifestyle, now's the time to act.

"Eastside Village and Cypress Landing are nearing capacity," notes Christie. "This is our third and final neighborhood, so don't wait!"
