Hillcrest Clubhouse, the first clubhouse built at Highland Springs, the Erickson Senior Living community in North Dallas, Tex., has a new look!
Residents are delighted with the fresh color scheme, stylish furniture and lighting, and modern decor--not to mention the delicious offerings at the clubhouse's restaurants and new lounge.
"Erickson Senior Living continually invests in its communities," says Christina Christie, sales director at Highland Springs. "We're committed to keeping our spaces looking top-notch and creating new dining experiences that residents--and future residents--will enjoy."
Eye-catching decor
Paula "Ann" Gordon, who lives in Hillcrest's adjoining Willow Ridge residence building, is thrilled with the lobby's redesign--especially one chosen paint color.
"They have a wall that is eggplant-colored," she says. "It's just so pretty with the tones of grays and greens. I was looking at my apartment thinking, 'What could I paint eggplant?'"
Attractive new furnishings in the lobby invite residents to sit and chat between club meetings.
"Our newly installed furniture in the Hillcrest lobby is receiving very positive feedback from our residents," says Christie. "They love the fresh look and comfort of the selections."
Ann couldn't agree more. "The seating areas, all of them--the lobby, the restaurant, the living room, the billiard room--are lovely. And the chairs are so comfortable!"
Refreshing an old favorite
Renovations can also be found at Chisholm's Restaurant, where eye-catching, colorful artwork has been added.
Chisholm's--the first restaurant at Highland Springs when the community opened in 2006--is an Erickson Senior Living flagship, as it was where the enterprise-wide Signature Dining program launched about ten years ago.
The restaurant's reopening has seen the return of resident favorites, including the petit filet, bourbon-glazed salmon, Louisiana crab cake, and basa Francaise. A peek at the menu also reveals tantalizing dishes like seared shrimp, a vegetarian Buddha bowl, and beef brisket tacos.
Ann sings the praises of the filets, lamb, seafood.
"I love what they do with seafood. I usually have some variation of shrimp that is heavenly. They have Dijon shrimp and honey-walnut shrimp," she says. "And, I have learned to eat something new--Brussels sprouts. They make delicious Thai chili Brussels sprouts. Chisholm's is my go-to place!"
A place to gather
Alongside the restaurant, Chisholm's living room area was redesigned to include Founder's Lounge--with a new convenient, centrally located library and a bar inviting people in to enjoy its billiards and poker areas.
"The redesign of the restaurant was done with the intent to move away from a grand ballroom-style space and create a more intimate venue with a beautiful bar," explains Dining Director Humza Shaikh. "Residents love the addition of Founder's Lounge."
He continues, "The lounge reflects many resident requests, including a focus on a quieter atmosphere, additional banquette-style seating, an aesthetically pleasing dining room, and a true bar area dedicated to cocktails and entertaining."
Ann appreciates what the innovative design elements have added to her dining experience.
"The colors are so light. That makes a big difference. It lightens your mood when you're in a light space," she says. "It's also cozier but includes some larger table space because people do want to gather. I think they've done a good job of making it more flexible with the new banquettes."
Always top-notch
Investing in the growing community is paramount, as Highland Springs recently opened the Eastside neighborhood and the Uptown Park residence building.
"These recent renovations mirror the feel and look of our newer buildings--ensuring our original Hillcrest neighborhood is just as appealing," explains Christie. "Prospective residents often comment that our community is well maintained, and that's thanks to the wonderful attention of our staff members, as well as our ability to invest in periodic renovations."
"We also want current residents to feel confident and comfortable in their home," adds Shaikh. "As Erickson Senior Living evolves and grows, the company focuses on making adjustments to align with resident requests, such as creating more intimate dining spaces across the enterprise. No matter which restaurant or building a resident chooses to dine or live in, they'll have an unmatched experience."
Unbeatable experiences
Ann, like many of her neighbors, couldn't be more pleased with all the new common and dining areas where residents love to commune and connect.
"We have this beautiful new library, so if you're waiting for your table, you can peruse the books," she says. "And we have the billiard and cards area. It's classy and it's useful, which you can't beat!"
