DALLAS, TX--Residents of Highland Springs, the Erickson Living retirement community in North Dallas, will kick-off the Memorial Day weekend with a patriotic tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation's freedom.
Beginning at 8am on Friday, May 23rd approximately thirty residents will create a wave of "Red, White and Blue" by placing 400 United States flags on the grounds of its 89-acre campus.
"The residents, veterans and their families have embraced this patriotic picture that they create with the American flags," stated Barbara Blachly, Community Resources Manager. "Driving up to Highland Springs and seeing the 'sea' of fluttering flags makes one remember a loved one who served or is currently serving in our Armed Forces. We must never forget."
Similarly, the community honored Armed Forces Day last weekend; the American flags will fly through the Memorial Day weekend.
The placement of the flags will take approximately 30 minutes. There will be colorful photo ops and interview opportunities with veterans of World War II and the Korean War.
Highland Springs is located at 8000 Frankford Road (Dallas, TX 75252). For more information, please contact Jeff Getek at 410-456-9809
