Dallas, Texas--In just a few days, American will celebrate the 100th birthday of one of the most influential entertainers in our history…the Chairman of the Board…Frank Sinatra.
On Friday, December 11, the generation that lived and loved Sinatra will celebrate the occasion with live music, dancing and surprises at Highland Springs retirement community.
Over 150 residents and guests will attend a Tribute to Sinatra from 7:00pm – 8:30 pm in honor of Ol' Blue Eyes, whose influence in music, Hollywood and even politics still connects generations today.
The event will feature live entertainment by Jack Melick & His Big Band. Melick, 85 and a resident of Highland Springs, has been playing music for 78 years as a pianist and Big Band Leader.
Even Sinatra himself was a fan of Melick. When the iconic entertainer dined at the Sultan's Table Club at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas, Mr. Melick's band would play "Nancy (With the Laughing Face)," an ode to Ol' Blue Eyes' daughter. Upon hearing the song, Sinatra would give the band a hearty thumbs-up from his front-row table.
Don't miss the party as "The Best Is Yet to Come!"
