While Emerson Lakes, an Erickson Senior Living community planned for Lakewood Ranch, Fla., will be brand new, that's not the case for the sales team.
"Our sales team members have a lot of experience under their belt and a wealth of knowledge about the senior living industry," says Adam Zubowsky, the community's sales director.
Coming from other Erickson Senior Living communities along the East Coast, Sales Associate Liam Hamann, Senior Sales Associate Michael Fletcher, and Sales Counselor Alex Myers are ready to help even more retirees embrace a vibrant, worry-free lifestyle.
A stress-free move
Prior to joining Erickson Senior Living, Liam Hamann was a relocation manager for a senior move management company that worked with continuing care retirement communities in the Richmond, Va., area.
"I helped many clients move to Erickson Senior Living communities," he recalls. "I could tell that Erickson was different--its communities were operating at a much higher level. Each one had a supportive environment, and I wanted to be a part of it."
Hamann found himself on the hard-working team that launched Avery Point, the Erickson Senior Living community in Short Pump, Va., that opened in 2022. He served as move-in coordinator, helping new residents plan the details of their transition to the community.
"It was an exciting opportunity," he says. "Seeing so many seniors thrive in their new home was more gratifying than I could have ever hoped."
When Hamann learned about the plans for Emerson Lakes, he jumped at the chance to be part of another brand-new community. He accepted the role of sales associate, eager to guide more retirees in the moving process.
"I want to make sure that seniors realize how vibrant Emerson Lakes is going to be, and how easy and stress-free it will be to live here," notes Hamann.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his little tabby Sam and antiquing at local shops.
"I look forward to hearing about the treasures that people will be bringing with them to Emerson Lakes!" he says.
Happy to help
Michael Fletcher also knows what it takes to get a new Erickson Senior Living community up and running. He spent a little over a year in Bethesda, Md., working with the sales team to spread the word about The Grandview, Erickson's first vertical living community that will open next year.
He also spent five years in Maryland real estate--as part of the preferred realty team for Riderwood and Charlestown, two other Erickson Senior Living communities.
So, when a sales position opened up at Emerson Lakes--close to relatives--he knew it was the perfect opportunity.
"I have family in Naples and Tampa," he explains. "I was thrilled to be able to relocate close to relatives. Being on the coastline with many golf courses is a plus!"
Although Fletcher is eager to hit the links, he's even more excited to help retirees flourish in their new home.
"Hearing how happy people are about the community is rewarding for me," he notes. "I make sure they know they can come to me with any questions they have while they are considering or planning a move."
Building relationships
Alex Myers learned about Erickson Senior Living when he worked as a full-time babysitter during the summer.
"The mom worked for Erickson Senior Living and loved it," he recalls. "One day, she suggested I apply for a dining role at Ashby Ponds, the Erickson community in Ashburn, Va."
Soon after being hired on as a bartender at one of the on-campus restaurants, Myers moved up to restaurant management. And nearly a year later, he joined Ashby Ponds' sales team as a sales associate.
"I'd lived in Northern Virginia since I was two," he says, "but I'm also quite familiar with Southern Florida. My best friends' families have second homes here--we visited there every summer. Making the move to Emerson Lakes just made sense."
Since accepting his role as sales counselor in late September, Myers has made Lakewood Ranch his second home as well.
"Virginia will always have a piece of my heart, but I love it here," he says. "I enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting the beaches, and taking trips to nearby spots like Tampa, Anna Marie Island, Siesta Key, and St. Petersburg."
He continues, "I also love what I do! I get a lot of satisfaction in getting to know people before they move in. It'll be so rewarding to help them find their apartment homes and continue to see them once Emerson Lakes is open."
