Introducing Adam Zubowsky, Sales Director at Emerson Lakes

When Adam Zubowsky was appointed the first sales director for Emerson Lakes, a brand-new Erickson Senior Living community coming to Lakewood Ranch, Fla., he dove in head first. 

A Richmond, Va., native, he had visited the Gulf Coast of Florida often, spending time with his grandparents who had retired to Sarasota.

When it came time to contemplate a move there for work, it felt familiar and comfortable already. Zubowsky and his wife Jeanine visited schools and residential communities during several visits over the last few years. 

"This area checks every box for us," he says. "We're happy to be Lakewood Ranch residents."

In his new role, Zubowsky looks forward to bringing an active, maintenance-free lifestyle to hundreds of retirees in Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, and Bradenton--and beyond!

Zubowsky was originally introduced to Erickson Senior Living through Jeanine, whose grandparents lived at Greenspring, an Erickson community in Springfield, Va. 

A shared mission

He was inspired by the culture of Greenspring's high-performing team, which also demonstrated a strong commitment to work-life balance. 

"That really meant a lot to me," says Zubowsky. "I knew I was in the right place."

When Erickson Senior Living announced the addition of Avery Point--a new community coming right next to his hometown of Richmond--he jumped at the chance to join their team. He spent nearly four years as a sales counselor there, gratified to introduce the Erickson lifestyle to as many retirees as possible. 

"Given my experience, I feel poised to set Emerson Lakes on the road to success!" he says.

Resort-style living

Emerson Lakes will embody a coastal design esthetic and feature an array of top-notch amenities. 

"It will be just like living at a resort," Zubowsky notes. "The clubhouse will feature an extensive selection of amenities, including a fitness center and a clubroom for mah-jongg and card games." 

There will also be an outdoor pool, perfect for group water aerobics, and lakes throughout the property. 

"We're even planning a kayak launch from the lake at the back of the clubhouse!" he says. 

Thanks to the community's climate-controlled walkways, everything will be accessible all year round--even during rain or the hottest heat wave. 

"The weather will not stop you from getting to yoga or meeting your friends at the bar for happy hour," Zubowsky explains. "You're able to stay as active and involved as you want to be." 

Another benefit of living at an Erickson Senior Living community is the worry-free lifestyle. Gone are the days spent mowing the lawn or hunting down a reliable repair service. Even the simplest of maintenance requests are handled by Emerson Lakes' General Services staff.

"It's true maintenance-free living," Zubowsky explains. "We'll replace the water filter in your refrigerator, fix a faucet that's dripping, and even change your burnt-out lightbulbs. Without the stress of home maintenance, you're able to spend more time doing things you love, like visiting with family or playing pickleball."

'From the ground up'

Although Emerson Lakes residents will be beating the heat indoors, Zubowsky's three children--preparing to join local swim teams and compete all year round, outdoors--will be soaking up the sun. 

"Clearly, we much prefer sand over snow," Zubowsky jokes. "We're excited about being so close to the beach. Jeanine is from Virginia Beach, and my kids were born in Virginia Beach. We're glad to be back in a coastal community."

Since moving to their new house in July, Zubowsky has wasted no time preparing for the growth of Emerson Lakes. 

"I'm excited to build a sales team and play a role in developing the community," he says. "Emerson Lakes will be the first continuing care retirement community in Lakewood Ranch, so there's lots of work to be done. We have to introduce the Erickson Senior Living brand, as well as its amenities, services, and the lifestyle, to a new area--from the ground up."

Looking ahead

Zubowsky looks forward to helping retirees live better lives--just as he did at Avery Point. 

"I'm really thrilled to be able to offer this lifestyle to residents and their families," he notes.
