Emerson Lakes Will Offer Plenty of Opportunities to Stay Active and Engaged

Studies show that increased activity improves overall health, well-being, and quality of life.

With this research in mind, leaders at Emerson Lakes, the Erickson Senior Living community under construction in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., are working diligently to create an extensive offering of amenities and activities designed to help keep future residents engaged.

"Emerson Lakes will be set on 46 acres. The size of our community is one of many factors that makes us unique, giving us the ability to add more amenities and restaurants than smaller communities," says Adam Zubowsky, sales director for Emerson Lakes. "Our vast amenity spaces provide the opportunity for numerous activity options."

From clubs and groups to entertainment and social gatherings, future residents of Emerson Lakes are sure to enjoy an active, vibrant lifestyle, contributing to a long and happy retirement.

So much to do
Coral Ridge, Emerson Lake's first clubhouse, will serve as the community hub.

In the 50,000-square-foot, two-story clubhouse, residents will find a creative arts room and a card room for poker, mah-jongg, puzzles, and other table games. Also included is a state-of-the-art theater room--the perfect spot for viewing sporting events, watching movies, listening to guest speakers, and attending educational lectures.

All spaces will be developed as multipurpose areas, providing the flexibility to host a variety of clubs, activities, and events.

"At other Erickson Senior Living communities, we've seen residents form hundreds of clubs--photography, fishing, golf, wine connoisseur groups, faith groups, book clubs," Zubowsky explains. "So much is happening on any given day at a community. Residents will use these spaces throughout the day into the evening."

He adds, "Before Emerson Lakes opens, our Resident Life team will meet with those who have reserved residences to develop clubs and groups. We want everyone to embrace an active, vibrant lifestyle from the start."

Staying active
Coral Ridge will also be a popular spot for fitness lovers. Inside, a fitness center--complete with industry-leading equipment--will be open 24 hours a day to meet the needs of all residents.

A fitness manager and several fitness coordinators will be on site to provide instruction on the equipment, help develop exercise plans, and even offer personal training sessions. A schedule of fitness classes, including yoga, aerobics, balance, strength training, and even line dancing, will be available, as well.

In addition, an open-air fitness area will host yoga, aerobics, and other classes during the cooler months. The outdoor aquatics center--boasting a 25-meter pool with three lap lanes, a zero-entry ramp, water aerobics area, and a separate spa tub--will remain open year-round.

The great outdoors
But Coral Ridge won't be the only place of activity for residents and their guests. Emerson Lakes' beautiful grounds will serve as the backdrop for a variety of activities.

The community will feature two outdoor pickleball courts, two bocce courts, and several fire pits with ample seating for a relaxing evening with friends.

Other outdoor spaces will include a dog park, meditation garden, and sidewalks for strolling throughout the campus. These planned walking paths, connected to the greater Lakewood Ranch community, will provide direct access to the local area's restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.

"There will be so much to do at Emerson Lakes that it will be difficult for residents to squeeze it all in," says Zubowsky, with a laugh. "And, as the community grows, so will the number of groups and uses for these expansive community areas."

Wine and dine
Emerson Lakes will open with two restaurants and a full service bar.

Water's Edge, located on the first floor of Coral Ridge, will provide cafe dining options for lunch and dinner. Breeze Point, situated on the second level, will offer tableside service and accept reservations in advance. Both restaurants will serve up to 25 entrees each day, as well as specially planned theme nights.

Finally, The Sandbar, a full-service bar, will be open for a light breakfast, poolside lunch, and a full bar experience in the evening.

"Our restaurants will give residents the chance to relax, enjoy a great meal and a drink, and take in the breathtaking view of our lakes and beautifully landscaped grounds," Zubowsky says. "But most importantly, they'll become go-to spots for residents to catch up with friends and meet new neighbors. It's all about finding ways for residents to stay active and engaged."
