Wind Crest Promotes Nicole Norton to Director of Dining Services

August 29, 2019

Highlands Ranch, Colo. – August 29, 2019 – Wind Crest, a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living, has named Nicole Norton as its new Director of Dining Services. In this role, Norton will oversee the community's six on-campus restaurants and more than 300 dining services employees.

Norton joined Wind Crest in 2017. As General Manager, she was responsible for planning and opening Burton's Restaurant and the Mile High Café in Wind Crest's High Line Overlook neighborhood. In January 2019, Norton was promoted to Assistant Director of Dining Services and has been serving as interim Director of Dining Services since the spring of 2019.

With more than 25 years of leadership and management experience primarily in food service, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. Since joining the dining team at Wind Crest, Norton has taken the opportunity to leverage her unique expertise in training and development to create and implement a leadership training program specifically designed for dining services staff. She has also served as part of a community-wide team that designed a new ten-week leadership academy available to all Wind Crest managers and supervisors.

"Training and development is my true passion," said Norton. "I find it very rewarding to help develop new leaders. Even people who have been in leadership for a long time can learn something new and different as we continue to grow."

Earlier this year, Wind Crest added Prospect Crossing, a brand-new independent living building with 111 apartment homes, to its campus in Highlands Ranch. Next year, the community plans to open two more new buildings in its Colorado neighborhood, including two new restaurants, which Norton will also oversee along with about 130 additional staff members.

"We are thrilled to see Nicole move into this leadership position," said Craig Erickson, Executive Director at Wind Crest. "She has a strong track record of leadership development, having prepared a number of team members for advancement. We're grateful for the unique gifts she shares with our community each day, which enhance the lives of residents and staff alike."

"I love working at Wind Crest. It is incredibly fulfilling to work with residents and develop deep, meaningful relationships with the people we serve each day," says Norton. "As we prepare to open two new restaurants in 2020, I look forward to collaborating with my outstanding team to develop new leaders and create even more distinctive dining experiences for our residents."
