Ranked one of the best in providing quality retirement living, Erickson Senior Living communities offer beautiful, maintenance-free apartment homes, complete with world-class amenities and modern finishes.

Each new resident enjoys the opportunity to create a fresh living space that reflects their unique taste.

As a personal moving consultant, I work one-on-one with future residents to design distinctive, new spaces that incorporate beloved personal items in a way that is both functional and stylish. And as part of the greater Erickson Realty and Moving Services team, my goal is to provide the resources necessary to make their transition as stress-free as possible.

Creating a moving plan for Seniors

The best way to describe the relationship between a personal moving consultant and a future resident is partnership. By working together, we're able to create a seamless moving plan. In addition, fostering constant and open communication means that the resident's new apartment home will reflect their personality and style.

Ideally, this partnership begins when a personal moving consultant visits the prospective resident in their current house. I am often asked, "How will all my special things fit in my new apartment home?" These all-important house visits allow me to see how they live - what their interior design style is and what rooms they use the most. We are then able to create a space that looks and feels like "home" to them.

Sometimes, future residents find that they are tired of their old furniture or décor and are ready for a fresh start. Working in tandem, we identify a furniture layout and a décor arrangement that either reflects their current taste, or will feature contemporary pieces to reflect their new beginning.

Selecting new furniture, color schemes, or custom built-ins, such as entertainment centers and bookcases, is always a fun and rewarding process.

Customize your Senior Living space

Every Erickson Senior Living apartment home can be customized. For some, that may mean choosing new cabinets or a particular countertop. For others, it may mean adding window treatments or choosing a particular type of flooring. Other options include paint, lighting, or other modern fixtures.

Moving to an Erickson Senior Living community also provides a wonderful opportunity to de-clutter and get rid of outdated items.

In planning for a new apartment home, I typically suggest starting with selecting a neutral paint and flooring option. This provides flexibility to bring in items from their old house, or choose a new colorful palette for furniture and décor.

I also encourage prospective residents to utilize the on-campus Custom Interior design center to review the many selections available. While they're not limited to what they see there, it can help people make choices based on their desired timeframe. All of our selections are top of the market and provided by trusted vendors.

I remind future residents that moving into a new apartment home is only part of your next chapter.
