PARKVILLE, MD---The North Pole will move south for one morning as resident volunteers from Oak Crest retirement community will partner with the Baltimore Area Salvation Army on Tuesday, November 20th from 9am-10:00am.
Celebrating a partnership of eighteen years, fifty residents will fill 400 stockings with toys, games and other items for the benefit of Baltimore-area families...in just an hour!
The project fills local need as two thousand families have registered with the Baltimore Salvation Army this holiday season, according to Ann France, Oak Crest resident and Executive Board Member of the Baltimore Area Command Women's Auxiliary. That represents over 8,000 children.
The stockings will be distributed by the Salvation Army at their Hampden center in December. Oak Crest residents raised $3,380 for the project with contributions.
