Oak Crest Residents Contribute $238,000 to Staff Appreciation Fund

Residents of Oak Crest, an Erickson Senior Living community located in Parkville, recently made the holiday season a bit merrier for eligible staff by contributing $238,000 to the 2021 Staff Appreciation Fund.

The annual Staff Appreciation Fund campaign is an opportunity for Oak Crest residents to thank the hourly employees who consistently go above and beyond to provide a variety of services. The amount of $238,000 was the most ever raised in Oak Crest’s 26-year history, and checks were direct deposited to 724 employees on December 7.

“Martin Luther King, Jr. once said that ‘life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?’ At Oak Crest, we experience the answer to Dr. King’s question each and every day,” stated Mark Roussey, Executive Director.  “Our employees share their talent and hard work to help residents live better lives, while our residents routinely express their appreciation in many meaningful ways.”

Each holiday season, the funds are distributed among eligible employees, which include dining associates, security officers, maintenance workers, housekeepers, and medical and nursing assistants—just to name a handful.
