Oak Crest Hosts Meet the Candidates Night

PARKVILLE, MD---With a pending primary election on June 24th, candidates for Baltimore County and state offices are busy meeting with area voters.
The campaigning included a recent stop at Oak Crest as the Erickson Living retirement community hosted a Meet the Candidates Night on May 14th.
The event, sponsored by the Oak Crest Chapter of the Maryland Continuing Care Residents Association (MaCCRA) and the Oak Crest Public Affairs Department, offered candidates time to provide information on their backgrounds and election platforms.
In all, twenty-seven area candidates attended the forum in front of 150 residents and family members.
"As the election calendar in Maryland has changed in 2014, it is more important than ever for voters to be informed early," stated Jeff Getek, public affairs manager for Oak Crest.  "We thank these candidates for visiting Oak Crest and sharing their views.  We also appreciate the time they took to meet our residents before and after their presentations."
Ron Stokes, President of Oak Crest MaCCRA, provided welcome remarks, and Gerri Gray, the organization's Legislative Director, served as the event emcee.  Oak Crest serves as an election precinct in the primary and general elections.
