CMS designates Erickson Advantage® a 5-Star Medicare Advantage Health Plan, Medicare’s highest rating, five years in a row
Erickson Senior Living, a national leader in the development and management of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), is proud to announce that its health plan, Erickson Advantage, has once again been awarded a 5-out-of-5-star overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the fifth year in a row.
Each year, CMS measures how well health plans perform using a scale known as the Star Rating System. The CMS Star Ratings system is a comprehensive evaluation of health and care plans based on information gathered from member satisfaction surveys, plans, and healthcare providers. A 5-star rating is the highest possible score and signifies exceptional performance in key areas such as care quality, customer service, and outcomes.
According to CMS, “The Star Ratings system helps Medicare consumers compare the quality of Medicare health and drug plans being offered so they are empowered to make the best health care decisions.”
Erickson Advantage is designed exclusively for residents of continuing care retirement communities managed by Erickson Senior Living. The CMS 5-star rating is a reflection of the quality care and top-rated customer service that Erickson Advantage members have come to expect. Only 31 of the 545 Medicare Advantage health plans have achieved the CMS 5-star standards for quality, member satisfaction, and customer service for the 2025 plan year.
“We are proud to celebrate Erickson Advantage earning the prestigious CMS 5-star rating for the fifth year in a row,” said Dr. Matthew Narrett, chief medical officer at Erickson Senior Living. “The 5-star rating affirms our unwavering commitment to the highest quality care and service. It empowers residents who choose one of our plans to feel confident in their healthcare decisions and enjoy a more vibrant, fulfilling lifestyle as a member of our communities.”
The Part C 5-star rating is the highest quality rating a Medicare health plan can achieve, evaluated across five categories:
-
Staying healthy
-
Managing chronic conditions
-
Responsiveness and care ratings
-
Complaints and appeals
-
Health plan customer service
The Part D 5-star rating is the top rating for Medicare drug plans, reflecting excellence in managing pharmacy services, including:
-
Drug plan customer service
-
Member complaints
-
Member experience
-
Drug pricing and patient safety
