Leveraging the digital landscape to engage with key audiences
BALTIMORE — Dec. 10, 2018 — While the most significant impact of the "silver tsunami" is still several years away, that has not deterred Erickson Living from enhancing its already successful development strategies to include increased engagement with targeted stakeholders. One innovative way Erickson Living has achieved this is by recently launching a new development-focused website that increases awareness about the company as a leading innovator in senior housing development and health care design.
"We recognize that our path to achieving targeted growth objectives requires providing all interested constituents with an easily accessible and transparent information resource that reflects our heritage of innovation in senior housing development," said Sean Sands, executive vice president of business strategy and development at Erickson Living. "By fostering greater collaboration with diverse audiences, we are further positioning ourselves to meet the growing demand for senior housing and high-quality health care services."
This proactive communication strategy comes as the American Seniors Housing Association ranks Erickson Living as the nation's sixth largest senior housing manager. The company's efforts to meet the growing demand for senior housing is reflected in its pipeline of close to $2 billion in planned investment in senior living community development over the next five years, plus an additional $400 million in repositioning projects in existing communities. At this level of investment, Erickson Living will likely be the most active developer in the senior marketplace over the next decade.
Erickson Living's status as a top senior living developer and operator is also validated by the market based on its continued outperformance of industry averages, including the most important metric for senior living providers: occupancy. Currently, the average occupancy at Erickson Living communities is 95 percent, compared to the industry average of less than 90 percent. As a result of this top performance and Erickson Living's success in executing on its growth strategy, the company now generates over $1 billion in annual revenue while providing homes to over 25,000 seniors and career opportunities to over 15,000 staff.
The development website highlights the company's history and philosophy, its national portfolio of communities and its leadership contacts. Additionally, this web-based resource offers diverse information regarding Erickson Living's vision for growth and ability to strengthen the larger community by serving as a good neighbor and by supporting a better quality of life. Additionally, career opportunities are listed for those looking to channel their passion for growth and development, quality design and construction into projects that help people live better lives.
One of the company's newest projects highlighted on the development website is Siena Lakes in Naples, Florida. The project design is well underway, and the campus will include modern, Tuscan-inspired architecture and abundant water features that complement the area's aesthetics. The sales office is scheduled to open in January 2019, with the highly anticipated project opening in approximately two years. This will be Erickson Living's second community in Florida, the other being Devonshire at PGA National in West Palm Beach.
In the near future, Erickson Living expects to announce several other exciting planned community projects through its new development website.
