Devonshire, the Erickson Senior Living community at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., is pleased to announce the promotion of Donna Schneider to sales director and the arrival of Michelle Glodeck as sales counselor!

The dynamic duo, poised for success in the new year with the recently renovated Sales Center, is eager to welcome even more retirees to the vibrant community.

"2024 is going to be an exciting year at Devonshire," says Schneider. "As we continue clubhouse renovations, I look forward to leading our amazing sales team in creating meaningful relationships with current and future community members."

Seasoned leadership

After moving to Florida in 1987 with a bachelor's degree from Queens College in Queens, N.Y., Schneider discovered her passion for working with seniors. "That's when I got into the senior living industry," she recalls.

The Sunshine State eventually led her to Devonshire, where she started as a sales counselor in 2014.

In her nine-year career at Devonshire, Schneider has exceeded in planning and implementing events and programs that provide retirees with the information they need to plan a vibrant and secure future.

As a result of her dedication and efforts, she was named Erickson Senior Living's Leader of the Quarter in 2022 and Leader of the Year in 2020.

"I love working with our community members, knowing that when they move in, they are making their own well-informed choices--rather than waiting for family members or children to make a decision on their behalf," says Schneider. "You worked hard for your retirement, so you should be able to choose what you do with it!"

Personal ties

Glodeck, working alongside Schneider, has over 23 years of industry experience at Erickson Senior Living.

Glodeck began her career as a continuing care social worker at Charlestown, the Erickson Senior Living community in Catonsville, Md. She was then promoted to a leadership role supporting Resident Life operations for the company before serving as resident life director at Riderwood, another community located in Silver Spring, Md.

"My experience in social work trained me to be a skilled listener, which really helps prospective community members when they're in the middle of gathering information," she says. "It also taught me the importance of building rapport and trust."

Glodeck continues, "Working with Resident Life demonstrated the extraordinary benefits of leading an active, engaged lifestyle."

She is seeing it firsthand since her mother, Arlene Rosch, made the move to Charlestown in 2018--inspired by the lifestyle that her daughter was bringing to retirees across Maryland and neighboring states.

"Now, my mom is experiencing all of the wonderful things that happen when someone moves to an Erickson Senior Living community," says Glodeck, pointing to the free time people gain when they move into maintenance-free apartment homes.

And now that some of Devonshire's shared spaces have been upgraded, including the popular Churchill lounge area, everyone has found even more ways to socialize during their newfound free time.

"We will have a lot to share with prospective community members," says Schneider, with a laugh. "Once renovations on the first floor are complete, changes will be coming to the second floor, which features the Stratford Theater and game rooms."

To introduce visitors to the reimagined spaces, Schneider and Glodeck are planning events that will showcase the new upgrades.

"During these events, you'll be able to enjoy a fantastic meal, tour our beautiful apartment homes, and--perhaps most importantly--meet current community members," says Schneider.

"But if you're looking for a more personal approach," says Glodeck, "I encourage you to schedule an appointment with a sales team member. There is never any pressure--just a wonderful opportunity to gather information and ask questions."

Looking ahead

While Schneider and Glodeck will be busy in the new Sales Center, they will continue spending time around campus--in true community member fashion.

"Whether pouring coffee at breakfast, joining community members for happy hour, or just sitting down for a meaningful discussion, our goal is to focus on personal relationships in an effort to ensure everyone's happiness at Devonshire," says Schneider.

"I strongly believe in our mission--to help seniors live better lives--and I carry it out both personally and professionally," says Glodeck. "Donna and I are thrilled about our new roles at Devonshire, as we can continue to introduce seniors to this amazing lifestyle!"
