Get to Know the Woodleigh Chase Leadership Team

One of the most exciting things about moving to Woodleigh Chase, the Erickson Senior Living community in Fairfax, Va., is that everything is brand new. Well, almost everything!

Many staff members who’ve joined Woodleigh Chase honed their senior living experience at other Erickson Senior Living communities. Read on to learn more about these dedicated employees. 

Renee Budd
Resident Services Manager

Budd came from Greenspring in Springfield, Va., and she boasts two decades of experience in independent living and continuing care communities. 

Home: Prince William County, Va.

Hobbies and interests: Spending time with family in the kitchen cooking, traveling the world with my husband, creating great memories with my grandchildren, and shopping. 

Something noteworthy about you: We are a military family from North Carolina. Go Navy!

What you are most excited about in your new role: Getting to know the residents, building lasting relationships with them, and working alongside them to create a highly engaged community. 

How you will make a positive impact: I bring people and team members together. I will always be the one to say, “We are one team!” 

Greg Freeman
Director of Finance

Freeman recently celebrated his seventh year with Erickson Senior Living. He comes to Woodleigh Chase from Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, Va., where he served in a variety of positions, including finance director.

Home: Leesburg, Va.

Hobbies and interests: Exploring new places, hiking, and building Lego sets with my son and daughter. 

Something noteworthy about you: I met my fiancée at Ashby Ponds, and our wedding is planned for May 18! My grandmother has lived at Ashby Ponds since 2021.

What you are most excited about in your new role: Woodleigh Chase has built a senior leadership team with decades of experience. I am excited to see all of the amazing ideas that everyone comes up with and work with the team to implement them. 

How you will make a positive impact: My greatest quality is building and improving things. I will use these skills when working with the team to roll out new programs and initiatives or modify existing ones. 

Michelle Aylor
Director of Dining Services

Aylor started her Erickson Senior Living career at Greenspring 17 years ago as a student server in the on-campus restaurants. 

Home: Lorton, Va.

Hobbies and interests: Traveling and relaxing at the beach.

Something noteworthy about you: My husband works at Greenspring and I have two amazing children who can’t wait to become student servers in the restaurants!

What you are most excited about in your new role: Bringing the Signature Dining program, focused on made-to-order meals, to Woodleigh Chase. 

How you will make a positive impact: I can bring great variety to the Signature Dining program through my love of international food.

Zakiya Hackett 
Director of Human Resources 

Hackett previously worked in Human Resources at Greenspring for eight years. A Waldorf, Md., resident, she loves traveling and spending time with family.

Something noteworthy about you: I started as a senior recruiter and became human resources director, which says a lot about Erickson Senior Living’s employee development!

What you are most excited about in your new role: I am excited to be a part of the hiring process, ensuring we attract the kind of top talent that will provide residents with the best experience.

How you will make a positive impact: I hope to drive Erickson Senior Living’s vibrant culture by helping others and providing a positive environment for residents and employees.

Tyler Kypers 
Associate Executive Director 

Kypers began as a student server at Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, N.J., in 2007. He previously served as finance director at Siena Lakes in Naples, Fla. A Fairfax, Va., resident, he likes roller hockey, watching football, reading, and traveling.

Something noteworthy about you: I am the first member of my family to complete my master’s degree while working full time! And, I have two brothers who also work for Erickson Senior Living. 

What you are most excited about in your new role: Meeting new residents and building a sense of community from the ground up. It is an incredible journey to have a community go from brick and mortar to a vibrant environment—through the partnership between residents and team members. 

How you will make a positive impact: By building connections. I love getting to know residents and employees and forming a sense of belonging within our community.
