Wind Crest, a senior living community managed by Erickson Living in Highlands Ranch, today announced that it has completed its COVID-19 vaccination clinics with 97 percent of its residents receiving both doses.
“Since the onset of the pandemic more than 12 months ago, our team has worked diligently with residents, their families and local health officials to help safeguard the well-being of everyone who calls Wind Crest home,” said Craig Erickson, executive director of Wind Crest. “I'm proud of the exceptional results we have achieved by working together–and I'm thrilled that so many of our residents now have an additional level of protection against COVID-19. We could not have reached this important landmark without the professionalism of our partners at CVS, the unwavering commitment of our staff and the resilience of our residents.”
Every resident who wanted a vaccine at Wind Crest has now received both doses, and look forward to safely enjoying the abundant on-campus amenities, dining experiences, and friendships that are hallmarks of Wind Crest's active, vibrant lifestyle. Residents, staff and visitors continue to take precautionary measures, including wearing masks, maintaining social distance and frequent hand-washing, to keep each other safe and well-protected.
Residents have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccination conveniently on campus.
“At Wind Crest, we have been through an exceedingly challenging year, filled with much uncertainty. All things considered, I cannot think of a better place in which to have been living, said Mary Kay Pera, a Wind Crest resident. “I felt safe and well cared for, and we came through it together. Last week we reached a milestone: we received our vaccinations right here at Wind Crest. I was so grateful, and residents congratulated Wind Crest and each other for this achievement. Next I am looking forward to traveling again to see family and friends!”
As Wind Crest continues to establish its new normal, Erickson expressed gratitude for local partners. “We also want to thank our two primary local hospitals, UCHealth Highlands Ranch and Littleton Adventist/Centura Health for vaccinating residents and employees who were not able to attend our onsite clinics,” he said.
Wind Crest is one of 20 senior living communities managed by Erickson Living. To date, more than 24,800 residents at these communities have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
