Wind Crest Opens New Residential Building – Mt. Rosa Court

May 8, 2018

Responding to increasing demand for senior housing in Douglas County

Highlands Ranch, Colo. (May 8, 2018) – On May 1, 2018, Wind Crest, an Erickson Living developed and managed continuing care retirement community in Highlands Ranch, Colo., opened a new independent living building with 126 apartment-style homes.

"As the demand for our product offerings continue to expand, the need for another residence building was without question," said Senior Sales Director Jason Atwell. "We have listened to what people want most in an active retirement community and delivered in a way that sets us apart in the senior living marketplace."

According to the Douglas County government website, the county is experiencing the nation's most dramatic percentage of population growth in adults aged 60 and older. The State Demography Office has noted that "By 2030 it is estimated that one in four residents of Douglas County will be age 60 or older – approximately 24% of the County's population."

Construction of the Mt. Rosa Court started in September 2016, and since announcing apartment home reservation opportunities, the response has been overwhelming. While almost all of the apartment homes in this 10th residential building are sold out, the community continues to accept reservations and deposits for future move-ins.

The new building includes 17 unique apartment home floor plans. In addition to 14 of Wind Crest's most popular floor plans, Mt. Rosa Court offers three never-before-seen spacious layouts, inspired by resident and priority list member feedback to meet demand for space, design, storage, and functionality. Other home features include modern kitchens; granite countertops; wood cabinetry; upgraded lighting and flooring; stainless steel appliances; full-size, side-by-side washers and dryers; and walk-in closets. Additionally, residents will also have the opportunity to purchase underground parking.

Amenities and services in the nearby High Line Overlook Clubhouse—such as one of four on-site fitness centers, and one of six restaurants, the 230-seat Arts and Enrichment Center, and a catering room—will be easily accessible from every apartment home in Mt. Rosa Court via weatherproof, enclosed walkways. Additionally, an enclosed skywalk connects Mt. Rosa Court to the other campus neighborhood, and shuttle service operates daily so all onsite amenities are easily within reach.

Brinkmann Constructors served as the project general contractor; JHP Architects (Dallas, Texas) as the project architect.
