Wind Crest Named Best Retirement Community in Highlands Ranch

July 1, 2019

Community recognized by readers of Colorado Community Media newspapers

Highlands Ranch, Co. – July 1, 2019 – Wind Crest, a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living, was named Best Retirement Community, Best Assisted Living and Best Memory Care in the 2019 Best of the Best contest, presented by Colorado Community Media.

For more than 20 years, Colorado Community Media, publisher of the Highlands Ranch Herald and 20 other local community papers, has held its annual Best of the Best contest, which is 100 percent comprised of reader nominations and votes. The business that accumulates the most votes in its category over the six-week voting period is declared the winner in that category and receives the "Best of the Best" designation.

Wind Crest is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located on a scenic 84-acre campus in Douglas County. The community is governed by its own board of directors affiliated with National Senior Campuses, who provide independent financial and operational oversight of the community. Its 1,300 residents are served by a total workforce of more than 600 full and part-time employees.

"Being recognized as the Best Retirement Community, Assisted Living and Memory Care in Highlands Ranch is a testament to the engaged lifestyle that our residents enjoy," said Craig Erickson, Executive Director. "We strive to create a community that embraces a culture of caring while providing convenient amenities and services to help seniors make the most of their retirement."

At Wind Crest, residents enjoy maintenance-free living in comfortable, stylish apartment homes. Amenities include an indoor pool, three fitness centers and five on-campus restaurants to choose from. If independent living residents ever require assisted living or additional care, they are able to transition to the community's continuing care neighborhood, which was named a "Best Nursing Home" by U.S. News & Report last year.

"On behalf of the team at Wind Crest, I would like to express our appreciation to the readers who took the time to vote in this year's Best of the Best contest," said Erickson. "This recognition would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our incredible team, who share their unique talents and gifts to make each experience with residents and one other meaningful. They are truly everyday heroes."
