The Right Move, Right Now to Siena Lakes

May 21, 2021

When people move into a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Senior Living, they often say the same thing: “They tell us all the time they wish they had moved sooner,” says Suzy McAllister, a sales counselor and personal moving consultant at Siena Lakes, opening this summer in  North Naples. Having worked at various Erickson Senior Living communities for nearly 14 years, McAllister knows exactly what’s she’s talking about.

“We’re a brand-new community,” says McAllister. “There is a great group of folks who are all moving in at the same time. Many of them refer to it as it’s like they’re going back to college!”

Real Estate is Hot, Hot, Hot!

The Naples real estate market for sellers is phenomenal right now. According to the Naples Area Board of Realtors, in March of this year, overall inventory is down 73 percent. This means that houses are selling fast because there aren’t enough houses on the market for buyers.

“For folks planning to move in the future, they really should take advantage of this housing market now. They can get more for their houses. The sales are no hassles at all, and it’s so easy. Often folks don’t have to do anything to prepare their homes,” says McCallister. “They’re flying off the market.”

Besides getting to move into a new place, folks should consider moving now because if they don’t, Siena Lakes may sell out. Right now, McAllister says they are between 70-75 percent reserved. “Our availability of new construction will end. Now’s the time to get something new,” she says.

“A limited variety of apartment homes are still available in our first two buildings—Lakeside Terrace and Fountain View--so you can move before the end of the year and start enjoying life at Siena Lakes now,” says Alison Marthe, senior director, strategic marketing at ESL. “Get rid of the burdens of home ownership, dine in our restaurants, and enjoy all the amenities Siena Lakes offers.”

And the amenities seem endless: everything from a fully-equipped fitness center along with an outdoor pool, but also countless clubs, educational opportunities, and games.

Need Help Moving?

If downsizing seems overwhelming, don’t despair! McAllister offers help with the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program. “We start with a complimentary home visit and determine what exactly is needed and how we can help. We bring a design board; we measure their furniture, and we lay it out on the plan. It gives them an idea of how their lifestyle can work in their new space,” explains McAllister.

In addition to helping them figure out what to keep and what to get rid of, Siena Lakes staff also works with move managers from the National Association of Senior Move Managers. “They will do everything from pack residents up as well as get rid of what they’re not bringing—whether it goes to auction, donation, or consignment,” says McAllister. “They make sure their home is ready for the buyers too.”

For people who have already arranged to reside at Siena Lakes—they’re offering one month’s service package when a resident refers a friend or family to Siena Lakes. “We are growing into a wonderful community of friends, and so many residents moving in this summer have referred many, many friends,” says Sales Director Fred Moschetta. “They are taking advantage of this great opportunity.”
