Riderwood Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Wellness Center

State of the art fitness and aquatic center will be two-stories

Silver Spring, MD  –  On Friday, November 30, Riderwood, an Erickson Living retirement community in Silver Spring, MD, held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the construction of The Wellness Center, a two-story, 25,000 square-foot fitness and aquatic center.

"Our residents are active and enjoy working out and the new Wellness Center will meet the health and wellness needs of our 2500 residents," said Gary Hibbs, Executive Director, Riderwood.  "We are going to be celebrating 19 years of experience and excellence in serving the senior living industry in the Baltimore / Washington metro area of Maryland.  The modernization of Riderwood is designed to meet the needs of current and future residents and health and wellness is a top priority for many of them." 

The two-story Riderwood Wellness Center will be approximately 25,000 sq ft and will house a state-of-the-art fitness center, aquatic center, indoor Pickleball courts along with a bridge to adjacent buildings at Riderwood.

The Wellness Center is scheduled to open in 2020.

The project's designer is Merlino Design Partnership.  The Architect is Hord Coplan Macht Architects.
