 Where did you move from?

 We moved to Riderwood from Potomac, Maryland in 2013.

 What do you enjoy doing at Riderwood?

 I am involved with many activities here.  I am a sales ambassador and enjoy taking prospective residents around the different apartments and telling them they should move early rather than late so they can make use of all the amenities and activities here.  I am active in the Catholic community and am an Eucharistic Minister  I am active in the Apple users group - iPhone, iPad and iMac - we meet weekly

 I usher for the Performing Arts events, help with the Scholarship Fund and I am a member of the Forties Club- this is for people born between 1940 and 1949. We meet for lunch twice a month.

 I play Shanghai Rummy, Hand and Foot, Rummikub, and Phase 10.  And I help those who need may need some assistance here at Riderwood – going shopping for them, taking them to medical appointments etc. I also visit residents who move to Arbor Ridge, our continuing care neighborhood. 

Talk about the Pen Pal Group you are in charge of? 

A group of Riderwood residents write bi-weekly to 5th grade students at an elementary school close to us. English is the second language for most of these students who are from Africa and Latin America. We write to them one week and they reply the next week. My friend and I are the facilitators and coordinate this project. We meet our pen pals once during the year. This has been a fun experience for the students and us!

What's your favorite thing about living at Riderwood?

 The best thing about living at Riderwood is the carefree lifestyle. Dinner is a social occasion and my husband and I meet different groups on different days of the week. This way we have acquired many lovely friends.

 My children are amazed at how busy and involved we are since we moved to Riderwood. They complain that they can only get us late at night!
