 Alexandra Kovaleva, M.D., loves coming to work each day and spending time with residents at Seabrook, an Erickson Senior Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J.

"My patients are the best part of my day," says Kovaleva, a senior care specialist who has served as the community's medical director for the last two years. "When patients thank us for helping them, it's all the reward we need."

Although their 55-plus community offered a clubhouse and amenities, Arthur "Art" and LauraPotes were ready for a lifestyle with more variety, convenience, and opportunities to engage.

"We were impressed to learn that at Seabrook, there was so much more we could take advantage of without leaving the campus," Laura notes. "We both attend fitness classes. I especially enjoy chair tap dancing and Conductorcise®, an exercise class using a baton to follow musical rhythms."

A recent U.S. News & World Report survey found that residents of senior living communities experience reduced feelings of isolation and loneliness, and are better able to form and develop friendships with others. For Vince and Debbie, that has certainly proven true.

"When we arrived at Seabrook last February, all of a sudden, we found ourselves mentally and emotionally connected with people every day," Vince explains. "We were talking to people, dining with them, and participating in activities. We're no longer feeling bored and isolated."
