Local high school students preparing to turn their tassels were recently named Student Scholars at Maris Grove, an Erickson Senior Living community in Glen Mills, Pa.
Dedicated high school student workers are being recognized and set up for success through these scholarships, funded by generous donations from community residents. At the Student Scholar ceremony on May 19, 22 student workers were granted $8,000 scholarships to support their pursuit of a 4-year college, two-year community college, or trade school education. Also, nine student scholars received donor-designated named scholarships totaling $64,000.
In addition, the One-Year Adult Learners Award, a scholarship worth $2,000, was given to five adult workers who tirelessly balance their work schedule at Maris Grove and hours of coursework.
Since 2008, the Maris Grove Scholars' Fund has awarded over $1 million in financial aid to student workers to support their pursuit of higher education.
"Thank you to all the residents who donated! These awards set our student workers and team members up for success," says Philanthropy Manager Sarah Golden.
