Generous Fox Run Residents Help Student Employees Pave Their Roads to Success

45 local high school graduates were named Student Scholars for the Class of 2024 at Fox Run, an Erickson Senior Living community.

These select student employees, who hold positions across the community’s six on-campus restaurants, displayed an unwavering commitment to service and excellence. They were honored at a ceremony held at Fox Run on June 8.

To recognize their dedication and propel their promising futures, community residents generously donated $502,000 to the Student Scholarship Fund. The scholarships are worth $12,000 per student over a four-year period.

“We wish the Student Scholars’ Class of 2024 all of the best in their life journeys.  They bring so much spirit and energy to Fox Run, which is appreciated by everyone who lives and works here,” says Ashley Bulat, Executive Director. “The relationships that blossom between our residents and student employees in the restaurants are heart-warming and capture the culture of our community.”

Peggy Mather Wadding serves as the Philanthropy Manager at Fox Run. “With a participation rate of more than 70 percent, we couldn’t have put this program together without the kindness of our residents. I would like to particularly express our appreciation to the members of the Philanthropy Committee for their hard work and creativity,” she notes. “We are already looking forward to working on next year’s campaign.”

To be eligible for the scholarships, students typically work at least 1,000 hours in the dining services department during their junior and senior years in high school. They must achieve satisfactory grades and remain in "good standing" as determined by their manager and plan to attend a college, university, or trade school on a full-time basis (at least 12 credit hours per semester).
