Fox Run Residents Help Pave a Path to Success for Students

July 12, 2022

For graduating students, these last few weeks have been a time of reflection—to commemorate academic achievements and appreciate the value of relationships formed with teachers, coaches, friends, and mentors.

For student employees at Fox Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Novi, it also represents a chance to be recognized for their hard work and set up for success through an investment in their academic futures.

At the scholars’ ceremony on June 11, thirty-six student employees from the Dining Services Department were granted four-year scholarships worth $10,000 through the Student Scholarship Fund at Fox Run. More than $370,000 was raised during this year’s campaign, with contributions made mainly from residents.

“The awards ceremony is a celebration of the journey that continues with the next chapter in the lives of these wonderful young men and women,” says Executive Director Ashley Bulat. “It is the appropriate time to reflect and thank our residents for their incredible generosity and the students for sharing their talents at Fox Run each and every day.”

“The scholarship program is a terrific benefit for students who work in our dining services department,” notes Ms. Bulat.  “Along with flexible hours and building relationships with co-workers and residents, qualified students have the opportunity to receive a meaningful financial award as they continue their educational pursuits.”

Participants at the ceremony included resident representatives Lynn Boluch and Pat Smith, Dining Services Director Angelo Nardoni, and Philanthropy Manager Peggy Mather-Wadding.
