The XXXIII Olympiad is underway in France with more than 10,500 athletes scheduled to compete in 329 events. Billions of viewers worldwide are captivated and watching the Games unfold!
Residents and team members of Fox Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Novi, have caught the Olympic spirit, too!
On July 26, they participated in the Olympics of Fox Run, coordinated by the community’s Resident Life Department. More than 50 residents and employees either registered for the friendly competition, which included everything from basketball free throw shooting and golf to ping pong and cornhole, or cheered on their friends. There were even opening and closing ceremonies to light the torch representing “Fox Run Spirit” and celebrate the winners and participants.
The community also live-streamed the opening ceremony from Paris.
“We loved the enthusiasm displayed by those who either participated or supported the Olympics of Fox Run,” noted Misty Dixon, community resources manager. “The fitness element and social connections boost everyone’s physical and mental health, too.”
“The Olympics in Paris have been amazing so far, and we’re having fun rooting for our favorite athletes,” noted Dixon.
