Eagle's Trace Residents Living the Mission at Share Your Gifts and Talents Fair

June 2, 2014

HOUSTON, TX---For the residents of Eagle's Trace, May 27th was a day to put the Erickson Living mission statement, "we share our gifts to create communities that celebrate life," into action.
The resident-led Community Outreach Committee sponsored a Share Your Gifts and Talents Fair to kick-off to the Committee's emphasis on growing the number of people involved in its year-round charitable projects, which have helped those in Texas, around the nation and throughout the world.
The Fair featured residents who displayed and discussed their talents, skills and hobbies with their peers.  From arts and crafts to wood-working and even dancing & acting, there was something to learn from everyone.
According to resident Pat Coatsworth, who co-coordinated the event with Louise Baldaro, over one hundred people attended the Share Your Gifts and Talents Fair.
"One of our goals is to get even more residents at Eagle's Trace involved with the Community Outreach Committee and other activities on campus," stated Ms. Coatsworth.  "We have a great opportunity to share what we have, whether it's time or talent, to help other people.  As folks went from table to table learning from their fellow residents, it was rewarding to hear people say 'I can do this, too!"
Following the Fair, the Eagle's Trace Community Outreach Committee circulated a campus-wide survey to elicit feedback on talents that residents are willing to share in the future.
