Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, Swimming; People Who Live at Brooksby Village are Getting in Shape

Peabody, MA - It's the beginning of another year and people are starting new workout routines or continuing what they are already do for exercise.   At Brooksby Village, hundreds of residents are attending the more than 13 different types of classes at the retirement community or they are working out in the Brooksby Village fitness center which doubled in size from 904 square feet to 1971 square feet.
"We offer all types of classes including yoga, tai chi, zumba,  aquatic classes and we have our new fitness center," said Stefanie Fuller,  Fitness Specialist, Brooksby Village.  "We doubled in size, added new equipment, a personal training/physical therapy room and significantly increased our free weight area.  People who live here live active lifestyles and want to stay in shape."
Residents at Brooksby Village  enjoy all new cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, upright bikes, recumbent bikes and nusteps.  New strength machines were added including cable pulleys.  The free weight area was significantly increased in space and two balance bars were installed. The locker rooms were renovated and a personal training/physical therapy room was added equipped with hand/ankle weights and an adjustable hi/lo therapy table.   Residents will also find personal televisions on each piece of cardio equipment and a new sound system including in the pool area.

Classes include Zumba, tai chi, yoga, aquatic fitness in the swimming pool, Pilates and many more.
The community has three large clubhouses featuring an on-site medical center, staffed by full-time doctors, five restaurants, two convenience stores, two beauty parlors, a TV studio, a swimming pool, activity rooms, classrooms, game rooms and even two branches of a bank.  Residents also have the opportunity to take part in hundreds of different clubs and activities.  The community also has its own Interfaith Chapel on campus that serves as the physical foundation for a strong faith-based community.
