Ann’s Choice Personal Moving Consultant Helps Residents Avoid the Stress of Moving

Erickson Realty and Moving Services helps with all aspects of moving from selling home quickly to packing.

 

Moving can be a stressful experience.  How do I sell my home? How do I prepare? What can I bring to my new home? How do I pack?  What moving company should I use? At Ann's Choice Retirement Community, Personal Moving Consultant Colleen Rosica helps residents moving to campus answer these questions as well as helps with all the aspects of the move from start to finish.

"Moving, especially after many years in a home, can seem overwhelming," said Rosica. "It's my aim to make the move to Ann's Choice as smooth as possible for our residents so that they can trade home maintenance for vibrant, active, worry-free living."

Through the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program, Rosica assists prospective Ann's Choice residents by connecting them with preferred realtors who are experts in the sale of homes in their specific neighborhoods.  Also, Rosica travels to individual homes to assess future residents' particular needs and to help customize a plan for their approaching move.  Services include assisting with home staging, downsizing, clean-out and packing plans, hiring movers, and helping with furniture placement and decorating of their new home.

"Customers benefit from using our preferred real estate agents and usually sell their homes quickly," said Rosica. They benefit from having their homes professionally staged and photographed, aggressive marketing tools, and competitive pricing to sell at the best price.

Rosica recently assisted Ruth and Peter Worms, who moved to Ann's Choice in July after living in West Windsor, New Jersey, for more than 15 years.  Peter is a former psychology professor at Montclair State University, and Ruth is a retired high school math teacher.

"Colleen's recommendation for a preferred realtor was key," said Peter. "Our house sold in a week and a half."

As part of the complimentary service Rosica provides, she assisted the couple with downsizing resources as well as planning the placement of their furniture through the use of a customized floor planning tool.

"Colleen knows what she is doing," said Ruth.  "She is pleasant, informative, and professional."

In 2017, 87 percent of future residents chose to use one or more of the services offered by Rosica and the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program.

Ruth and Peter are now settled into their new home at Ann's Choice and embracing the community's vibrant and active lifestyle.  Ruth plays tennis on the campus courts, participates in water aerobics and the craft group.  Peter likes to go to the gym and is a member of the art group on campus. In the fall, he looks forward to joining the book club.
