Ann's Choice took #7 spot on 2019 Best Workplaces for Aging Services list.
Great Place to Work and FORTUNE have honored Ann's Choice, a developed and managed Erickson Living senior living community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, as one of the 2019 Best Workplaces for Aging Services. Ann's Choice took the No. 7 spot on the list in Seniors Housing and Care (Small and Medium Companies) category.
"Ann's Choice is proud to be recognized as one of the best workplaces by Fortune," said Executive Director Chris Donati. "When people join Ann's Choice's team of everyday heroes, they gain more than a great job in a thriving industry—they gain unparalleled access to an array of valuable experiences, knowledge, and opportunities that will prove very beneficial to their personal and professional growth. The satisfaction of our residents and employees is our top priority."
The ranking considered feedback representing 223,183 employees working for Great Place to Work-Certified organizations in Senior Housing & Care and At-Home Care in the Aging Services industry. Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and consulting firm, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members' experience on the job. These included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team. Rankings are based on employees' feedback and reward companies who best include all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the organization.
Ann's Choice employees are regularly recognized for their work—including big and small acts of kindness—at monthly and annual award ceremonies, as well as other special staff events held throughout the year. The campus boasts an employee health and wellness center, where employees can see a Nurse Practitioner during work hours and schedule regular health checkups, testing and flu shots. Ann's Choice also offers staff access to its on-site pharmacy, fitness center, smoking cessation and Weight Watchers programs.
Like all Erickson Living communities, Ann's Choice is also committed to cultivating a diverse, inclusive workplace, with staff and residents coming from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. "Supporting a dedicated, diverse and engaged team is essential in creating a community that is a great place to live and work, as well as makes us stand out among other senior living providers," said Joseph Machicote, senior vice president of human resources at Erickson Living.
"The value of creating great workplaces for all is a clear competitive edge in the Aging Services sector," said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. "When organizations like Ann's Choice treat their own people with care and respect, you can expect their staff to treat your loved ones with that same care."
Ann's Choice employs more than 1000 full- and part-time employees and was recognized as "One of the Best Senior Living Communities" by The Intelligencer's Readers' Choice Service Awards for three consecutive years. In addition, the community was recently selected as a "Healthiest Employer" in the Philadelphia region by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Employee benefits include tuition reimbursement, 401k, paid time off, comprehensive medical benefits, on-site employee health and wellness centers, employee discount programs, and much more.
