Warminster, Pa. - To commemorate Memorial Day the Veterans Club at Ann's Choice Retirement Community is proudly flying 600 American flags throughout the Warminster campus.
Lining the roadways and walkways, it is difficult for any resident or visitor to pass by without feeling a great sense of patriotism while viewing the impressive display of flags. While many view this weekend as the unofficial start of summer, the Veterans Club wants to ensure that those that gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the United States of America are remembered with gratitude.
"I think this is a phenomenal way to show our appreciation for those service members who served our country," said Rudy Stroh, vice-president of the Veterans Club. "The men and women who have served our country deserve to be remembered for their service and our goal is to make sure no veteran is ever forgotten."
In addition to the 600 smaller flags, 14 large flags with personal connections to Ann's Choice are flying outside of the community's clubhouses. These flags were provided by residents at Ann's Choice who's loved ones served in the military and received the flags in memorial.
"I'm very touched the Veterans Club flying my husband's flag in the courtyard," said Helen Helmuth, a resident at Ann's Choice. "It makes me so thrilled and proud that I am able to see his flag and the flags of the other veterans flying for all to see."
