Windsor Run Celebrates First Anniversary

May 16, 2019

Matthews, North Carolina--Commemorating a full year and looking forward to a bright future, Windsor Run hosted a day of celebration for its 1st anniversary on May 15.  Residents and employees enjoyed a day of activities that highlighted a year of growth and friendship.

"Our pioneer residents and employees laid the foundation for Windsor Run to blossom into a caring, mission-oriented community serving seniors in the Charlotte area.  In the years to come, we will continue to welcome new residents and staff members, but we will always owe these pioneers our gratitude," stated George Comfort, Executive Director of the retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living.

"Last May, we made the commitment to serve our residents in a way that brings life to all who pass through our doors, one experience at a time," said Mr. Comfort.  "Since then, it has been rewarding to form new relationships, inspire each other and create the lifestyle for residents that we envisioned together.  I am proud of everyone who has made Windsor Run a great place to live and work in our inaugural year."

The festivities included a morning walk around the campus for residents and employees, a cook-out with entertainment by Jim Terrell and a mid-afternoon cake-cutting.  The culinary professionals of Windsor Run prepared special menus that included favorites such as pulled barbecue and grilled chicken for lunch and prime rib and stuffed chicken breasts for dinner.  Residents danced the evening away with local entertainer Jim Ruth.

With 60 acres of beautiful landscaping and elegant architecture, the independent living neighborhood of Windsor Run provides a vibrant lifestyle to residents with abundant amenities and a broad spectrum of activities and services, complemented with integrated healthcare and wellness.  On-site conveniences include an all-season aquatics & fitness center, two restaurants and Tavern 1879, a medical center and movie theater.

Growth is on the horizon with the future addition of Beech Hollow, a new independent living building opening in June to meet the demand for the lifestyle the community offers.  It will feature 101 new residences in a variety of stylish floor plans.  Construction on the continuing care neighborhood will begin in 2019.

Windsor Run employs 110 full-and part-time staff members in a variety of rewarding senior living careers involving health & wellness, operations and culinary services.  Prospective employees can monitor and apply for available positions at https://jobs.ericksonliving.com.
