Wind Crest Women's Club's Community Outreach is Vast

February 23, 2016

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO (February 23, 20126) -- The Wind Crest retirement community Women's Club knitted and donated 312 hats last year for young cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at The Children's Hospital.

The club also knitted hats for newborns at Littleton Adventist Hospital and donated knitted scarves to the Denver Rescue Mission.

The vast majority of knitting, crocheting, sewing, and other craft projects are done by club members on their own time and in their own apartment homes.

The club also collects aluminum pull tabs from cans that are converted to cash for the Ronald McDonald House, which houses families of cancer patients undergoing treatment in Denver.

In addition, proceeds from a fall Bake Sale and Mini Mall are donated to the Staff Appreciation Fund and the student Scholarship Fund,

Club officers serving this year are Donna Mason as president, Pat Stirling as vice president, Claudelle Hiebert as secretary, and Mary Ellen Patrick as treasurer.
