HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO -- Wind Crest has been named winner of the Large Business of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce, Highlands Ranch. Barbara Battaglia accepted the award on behalf of Erickson Living and Wind Crest, in front of hundreds of people representing over 30 businesses of all sizes and industries at the Chairman's Inaugural Luncheon held at the Falls Event Center
Why did Wind Crest win Large Business of the Year? Perhaps it is because of its exceptional employees. Or, because of the quality service it provides. Or, the fact that Wind Crest has been in Highlands Ranch for 10 years and is growing stronger every year.
Battaglia believes the reason for the award is much simpler than that. She feels it is because of the Erickson Way Culture and Values. Her acceptance speech addressed this, specifically speaking to Friendliness and Enthusiasm:
"At Wind Crest we live by our Values and Behaviors. We instill these values in our employees every day and introduce them to interviewing candidates and new employees. There are seven. I'll talk about one, which happens to be my favorite, Friendliness and Enthusiasm. We Smile…We say Hello…We greet people. What a special value that is. A value you don't see as part of many organizations cultural value system. It seems like such a simple thing, a common sense type of value. Of course we're going to be friendly to each other. Simple, right? Why would we add something so basic as part of our value system? Because, it's the little things. We smile at each other as we pass in the hallway, we say hello in the parking lot as we arrive to work, and we greet each other by name. These simple acts of friendliness may make us late to our next meeting, but that's okay, because it's the little things."
Joining Battaglia at the awards ceremony were Wind Crest representatives Bella Genov, Jenn Anderson, Marla McLain, Kelsey Ruocco, Nicole Parascand, Denise Aldana, and Gina Muaau.
