Wind Crest Promotes Murry Mercier as Administrator of Aspen Terrace Assisted Living

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO---Wind Crest, an Erickson Living retirement community, announced the promotion of Murry Mercier as its Administrator of Aspen Terrace, the new assisted living neighborhood.
With Erickson Living since 2002, Mr. Mercier previously served the role of Information Technology Manager at the 84-acre campus.
His specific responsibilities at Wind Crest will focus on the successful start-up and oversight of Aspen Terrace Assisted Living, an eight-person household focused on person-centered care and positive aging.
"After supporting Erickson Living and Wind Crest over the last decade, I became devoted to bettering the lives of our residents," stated Mr. Mercier.  "Balancing the clinical care with the needs of the individual brings a new light to how a person ages; the views on aging in our culture are far from positive.  I make it my responsibility to ensure our Elders enjoy each day and have as much decision-making power as possible in directing their own lives."
He will also support the community resources activities in the Resident Life Department.
"Murry's promotion demonstrates the wonderful career development opportunities at Wind Crest," said Craig Erickson, Executive Director of Wind Crest.  "Murry provided magnificent support to our residents and staff with the IT department.  As he identified a new career path, Murry worked steadfastly to achieve his professional goals and took advantage of development programs at Wind Crest.  As we prepare to expand our continuum of care at Aspen Terrace, Murray's passion for serving our residents will provide an excellent foundation for success."
Additionally, Mr. Mercier serves in a variety of leadership roles at Wind Crest, in the senior living industry and in the community, including:
• Wind Crest Benevolent Care Fund Chair ~ Coordinated fundraising efforts collecting over $100,000 in charity, guaranteeing residents of Wind Crest a home for life.
• 9Health Fair Site Coordinator ~ Plans and executes health fair that provides services to the greater community, raising awareness to the importance of regular healthcare visits.
• Eden@Home Certified Instructor ~ Facilitate the Eden@Home series, a program dedicated to culture change in Elder Care.
• Leading Age Colorado (formerly CAHSA) NEXT Member ~ Participates on task force that organizes educational and social events geared towards preparing young professionals for leadership roles in the senior care industry.
A resident of Washington Park, Mr. Mercier holds a bachelors degree in Information Systems from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.  Earlier this year, he was certified by the Colorado Health Care Association as an Assisted Living Administrator.
